João Marcos Espresso returns to Spella Caffè!
Decadent, expressive, complex.
New batches are added to online inventory every Friday, and are restocked weekly in our flagship caffè downtown. We highly suggest giving it a try on our hand-pulled lever in the caffè. It’s truly extraordinary!
João Marcos is rich and full-bodied with smooth and buttery crema and gorgeous minerality— it evokes the sweetness of drinking chocolate balanced perfectly with notes of Carambola (star fruit) and a pinch of black pepper.

Preparation:
This spectacular Brazilian bean shines best as an espresso, Moka pot, Melitta pour over, Siphon pot, and Aeropress.

João Marcos is a personal favorite of the Spella Team, and reminds us of our favorite moments while in Italy.
The João exhibits a classic, full, rich body, sweetness, dark chocolate covered Bing cherries, and walnuts. A truly expressive, complex Espresso!
Preparation:
João Marcos absolutely shines as an espresso or prepared with a Moka Pot, then recommended as Melita Pour over and AeroPress.
As a Melitta the flavors that are present are walnut brownies, cocoa, and sweetness.
Storage:
We suggest that you keep your Spella coffee in an air-tight container (such as a mason jar), in a cool, dry place (never a refrigerator or freezer). Our beans have a really impressive shelf life, and we find that - if stored correctly - they are delicious up to 3-4 weeks after their roast date.
