Our Second Location is Coming Soon!

When the vagaries of the pandemic economy forced Spella Caffè to reluctantly shutter their iconic intimate brick-and-mortar space, it was uncertain when conditions would support a return to downtown Portland. While Spella has been fortunate to count on their online bean sales (thank you, dear customers!), the valued commitment of its wholesale partners, and the success of the Harrison Square location, many have been longing for the return of Spella Caffè as an integral part of their downtown Portland experience. Andrea Spella himself has been equally anticipating the day he might play an active role in reviving the small business climate for downtown Portland. It looks like that day came sooner than we all expected.

Spella Caffè is pleased to announce plans to open a new location in the historic Selling Building at 608 SW Alder St. Situated around the corner from their previous location, Selling is a grand example of old-world Portland architecture, featuring its original marble facade with brass doorway and ornate window trimmings. When Andrea Spella first arrived in Portland in the early aughts, the striking features of the building caught his attention and instantly made his wish list of locations when he first envisioned opening his first brick-and-mortar caffè.

Spella Caffè invites you to be part of their long-awaited return to downtown Portland and the intimate coffee experience that put Spella on the map. Andrea Spella’s commitment to crafting smooth, delightful flavor in his espresso has remained unchanged, and the new space will continue to honor the legacy of the best espresso found in Italy. The opening of Spella's Selling location will also provide the perfect opportunity to house their beloved manual lever espresso machine.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Squisito!
